More than 450 students benefit from the infrastructure improvements made at the educational institution in Manizales.
A group of 100 volunteers featuring Ternium employees, family members, teachers, and students, carried out works to improve the infrastructure of the Liceo Mixto Sinaí, a public educational institution.
The 450 students, including 100 adults who attend high school on Saturdays, have new, more comfortable, and pleasant educational spaces thanks to solidarity and teamwork.
"The great efforts of a company like Ternium, fill us with hope because they represent their conviction that we are valuable as a community. We are immensely grateful to Ternium for investing money, time, and effort in improving the living conditions of the Sinai educational community," says Oscar Sanchez, Rector of Liceo Sinai.
Some of the improvements, in which 90 thousand dollars were invested, are resurfacing and painting of walls, roof refurbishment, bathroom plaster, purchase of boards, desks, desks, and chairs, as well as the refurbishment of 10 classrooms, a computer room, a laboratory, and toilets.
Claudia Murcia, EHS Coordinator, and Ternium volunteer, highlighted the company's operational personnel participation and their families. "It is amazing to see everyone working for the common good, especially the younger ones, affirming their social participation and empathy for different causes".
For his part, volunteer Jorge Salinas, Fusion Oven Helper, affirms that this day was special because it shows that the good ones are more and that the right path will always be education. "Volunteers show the world that together we can set a good example. With my family I always try to be with them in these activities, to teach them that things done with the heart always come out in the best way".
Regarding the balance of the day, Dora Ospina, a Business Partner of Manizales, assured that "it was very positive in terms of the satisfaction of the team of volunteers for helping to improve the conditions of their community, the improvement of the facilities for children and young people to learn and the footprint that Ternium leaves in the city".
The next stop for the 'Volunteers in Action' will be in Palmar de Varela, in this way the company reaffirms its commitment to education and learning through the action of the volunteers and their participation in improving the conditions of the educational centers in the communities where Ternium is present.
