The Continuous Casting Simulator from Ternium Brazil was prized with the greatest distinctive in the steel industry.
This Monday, October 16, Ternium was recognized with the Steelie Award in Excellence in Education and Training with the Continuous Casting Simulator project developed by Ternium Brazil. The event –which happened in Shanghai, China, and organized by worldsteel– celebrates its member institutions for their contributions to the steel industry.
The simulator was led by Franz Ramstorfer, Process Senior Manager from Ternium Brazil, and its purpose is to train the operators simulating everyday situations in Continuous Casting operations.
“I was just in a training when I got the news,” says Franz. “It’s like winning an Oscar in the steel industry. This is a project that joins safety, operational excellence, technology, and innovation. The steel industry needs and values more processes that have these characteristics and that is why we achieved this recognition.”
Tenaris, a company that is also a part of the Techint Group, was also a winner in the ceremony with the Safety and Health Excellence Recognition 2023 thanks to its Ergonomics Programme from Confab, its production center in Brazil.
The Steelie Awards are celebrated since 2013 to prize projects that contribute to the positioning of the steel industry. Ternium, besides this achievement, shared a shortlist nomination with Tenaris in the Excellence in Sustainability category for the ProPymes project.
