The funds raised by the second edition of the 10K Ternium race translate into 10,500 facemasks for the Villa Nueva community.
The funds raised in the second edition of the Ternium 10K race held in Villa Nueva were originally going to be used to refurbish a local school. However, following the health emergency, the decision was taken to buy facemasks to donate to the Villa Nueva Health Centers, explained Sergio Serrano, the director of Ternium in Central America.
At the ceremony to present the donation, the Mayor of the Municipality of Villa Nueva, Javier Gramajo expressed his appreciation and thanks, saying that "Ternium is the first company to support our health bank. This has come at exactly the right time, as our need was very great."
"Ternium has always pursued a philosophy of support for the communities where we operate, and this is a vital moment, an unprecedented situation in which Ternium must be true to its founding philosophy, and thus fulfill its commitment," Serrano concluded.
