We celebrated World Environment Day by receiving 167 photographs that captured the rich diversity of Mexican flora, fauna, and landscapes.
One of Ternium's environmental objectives is to protect the ecosystems of the communities where it operates. To achieve this, it is important to recognize the biodiversity surrounding the plants, industrial and service centers.
The participants in the first edition of this photography contest shared how Mexican biodiversity is seen from different perspectives: they captured birds flying, plants growing in unimaginable places, sunrises, and mountains surrounded by clouds, among other scenes.
The jury rated the composition, originality, and impact of the photographs. Due to the community's response, three winners per category were chosen, as well as three honorable mentions.
"We thank everyone who joined in this initiative sharing moments and scenarios. These are small actions to raise awareness of environmental care and go back to the basics when talking about ecology: taking care of our home, of our planet, and of our country, which has an amazing biodiversity," said Alejandro Alcalá, Environment Manager. First-place winners in each category will receive an Alexa device, while second-place winners will receive a headset and third-place winners will receive a sports bag. Honorable mentions will receive a Ternium lunch box.
