Máximo Vedoya and Guillermo Vogel participated in the fourth edition of the US-Mexico CEO Dialogue, which was attended by the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum.
On October 14 and 15, Mexico City hosted the fourteenth edition of the US-Mexico CEO Dialogue, a binational dialogue between CEOs from the United States and Mexico that, through working groups, seeks to improve trade between the two countries based on proposals for the governments. The event was attended by the presidents of the business associations of both countries: Francisco Cervantes of the Consejo Coordinador Empresarial (CCE), and Suzanne P. Clark of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and was led by Guillermo Vogel, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of TenarisTamsa and Co-Chair of the US-Mexico CEO Dialogue for Mexico, and the U.S. Co-Chair, Sara Bairstow, Managing Director of Mexico Pacific.
On this occasion, around 240 leading members of the private sector from both countries met to discuss trade and investment challenges and opportunities, focusing on promoting the priorities of the private sector through the five groups that make up the US-Mexico CEO Dialogue: Investment, Trade Facilitation, Trade Policy, Services and Energy, and Climate Change.
During the closed-door event, Máximo Vedoya, president of the Investment Group, shared with President Claudia Sheinbaum and the Secretary of Economy, Marcelo Ebrard, the achievements and actions they took to promote value-added investments and emphasized that the country has great opportunities: “There is a lot of competition to attract investments, but by working together the private sector and the government we can favor true value-added investments both in employment generation and production for the country and the region.”
“We laid the foundations to establish a continuous dialogue. The business sector and the authority, working together, with a joint vision to create growth, investment and improve the quality of life for those working towards the well-being of both countries. It is a very important initial step and, if we manage to implement it, we will achieve something very good for both,” said Vogel during his participation.
Also present from the Techint Group were Judith Garza, Institutional Senior Director of Ternium Mexico; Cecilia Bilesio, Corporate Secretary of Tenaris; Oscar Scarpari, CEO of Techint Engineering and Construction; Sergio De la Maza, Executive Vice President and General Director of TenarisTamsa, and Jesús Flores, Institutional Director of Tenaris.
This event, in addition to the participation of President Sheinbaum and Secretary Ebrard, was attended by Juan Ramón de la Fuente, Secretary of Foreign Affairs; Luz Elena González, Secretary of Energy; Rogelio Ramírez, Secretary of Finance; David Kershenobich, Secretary of Health; and Julio Berdegué, Secretary of Agriculture.
The US-Mexico CEO Dialogue was created in 2013 by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Consejo Coordinador Empresarial (CCE), in parallel to the creation of the Diálogo Económico de Alto Nivel (DEAN), as its business counterpart.
